Description
The Northstar Problem Gambling Alliance is a Minnesota nonprofit agency that addresses the issue of problem gambling in the State. The agency is based in Roseville and involves members and consultants/contractors around the state. Our work is to advance awareness and understanding of the topic of problem gambling. We do so through public awareness campaigns, educational training for community and treatment professionals, advocacy at the legislature for prevention, education and treatment, and serving as a current and accurate information resource for multiple audiences.

We are looking for a professional to work with our team to identify public speaking opportunities, develop presentation and training programs, attend professional conferences, and coordinate presentations statewide working with the professionals in the Northstar Speaker’s Network. The position will work with the leadership team on broad strategy and work independently.

Requirements
Minimum of five years of experience in the addiction / mental health field in a position such as counselor/therapist, education or prevention specialist, teacher, program director, or similar role. Knowledge and/or experience specifically with problem gambling strongly preferred. Marketing and or communications capabilities a plus.

Necessary Skills
Professional attitude and ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences. Outgoing personality able to listen to others needs and creatively help solve problems. Detail oriented in managing projects and coordinating programs. Good listener who can assess situations. Team oriented.

Terms
This position will be based on an ongoing contract at an hourly rate with expense reimbursement.
